SHOPPING WITH… LUCIA DEBIEUX

How do fashion editors dress their kids? I caught up with Lucia Debieux, Fashion Editor at Marie Claire magazine and mother to Valentina, 2, to find out…

Note: I do sometimes use affiliate links but most importantly I never feature anything because it is an affiliate link.

I shop for…  my daughter Valentina, 2.5

She can usually be found wearing… A tutu. Basic but ballet is her new obsession.

My favourite item in Valentina’s wardrobe is… An old Liberty piece from a Mamas & Papas collaboration, it’s a floral dress with little Peter Pan collar from when she was 9 months old, it’s the sweetest. I got it in the sales so it was a bargain!

When she needs shoes we’ll go to… M&S. We are big fans of the Walkmates range, she has some suede boots that are adorable. I also love to scour TK Maxx as often see Bobux sandals, Start-Rite and Superga in there.

My favourite places to shop for baby & kidswear are…

For accessories I go to… Anywhere and everywhere. She’s quite the  fan of a sparkly hair clip! I’ve found some real gems from corner shops to markets on holidays or work trips abroad.

My first stop for a new baby gift is…. Liberty kids department. The Wee Gallery Monochrome books are always top of my list usually paired with an Arket or Gap knitted cardigan. Failing that you can’t go wrong with a Ewan the Dream Sheep!

I get baby & kids style inspiration from…People watching! I’m so nosey so love to people watch, stylish kids and their parents always stick in my mind.

Every season I buy… A hat. I always lose them so try to buy a few. I currently have my eye on a cotton bucket style from Arket for her.

For baby & kidswear bargains I go to…Charity shops, I love a good hunt for a bargain and anything to help lessen the waste in fashion. On the high street I would say Matalan, Valentina has a frilly sage green pinafore dress that’s a dead ringer for a famous Spanish kids brand!

On my shopping list…

I discovered this tutu dress via good old Instagram. The jacket has a removable lining so is perfect for now then once spring finally arrives I’ll remove the lining and I’m obsessed with the leopard boots. I stopped a mum in M&S to ask where they were from when I spotted them on her baby!
